Why private
The ferry takes 25 minutes and drops you into a crowd. The shared catamarans run a fixed schedule with forty strangers. Neither gives you what you came for: turquoise water, your own pace, and the people you chose. On a private charter the captain takes you where you want to go, you anchor where the water is clearest, stay at Playa Norte as long as you like, and play your own music. The day, step by step
- 10:00
Board at Marina Mundo Marino, Blvd. Kukulcán km 6.5, hotel zone. The cooler is iced, the snorkel gear laid out, the captain on the dock. Out through the lagoon and under the bridge.
- 10:45
The reef on the island’s north tip: 3–6 metres of water, visibility past 15 metres, parrotfish, angelfish, rays on a good day. 45 minutes to an hour.
- 11:30
Anchor in the shallows off Playa Norte — waist-deep, bath-warm, the beach as backdrop. Swim, float, the swim platform; lunch on the island if you want it.
- 13:30
The slow way home along the island’s west coast, a second swim stop if the group wants one, the drone in the air if you booked it.
- 16:00
Back through the bridge to the marina, the hotel zone glowing. The full hour-by-hour.

Not included: the marina’s 180-peso gate fee, paid at the dock in cash; gratuity (optional, 10–15% is common); and the add-ons — decorations $200, professional photographer + drone $300, catering $45 a person, extra drinks or longer hours on request.
The boat
A Sea Ray Sundancer 440 or 455, depending on the day: a shaded cockpit at the stern, a bow sun pad, a swim platform made for jumping, and a full cabin with air conditioning and a bathroom below. Both take up to fifteen guests in real comfort. See the fleet.
Booking and cancellation
A 30% deposit ($345) by card holds your date; the balance is paid at the marina on the morning, cash or card. Free cancellation up to seven days before returns the deposit in full. If the captain cancels for weather or a port closure you get a full refund or a free reschedule — we never sail in conditions the captain is not happy with. Directions, parking and what to bring are emailed seven days before.
