If you have searched “yacht rental Cancún price” you have seen $99 teasers and $10,000 mega-yachts with nothing straight in between. These are current prices for the boat, with one small government fee flagged below and nothing else added at the marina.
The per-person maths
Charter prices look big until you divide them. The $1,150 day charter is $77 a person with fifteen guests, $96 with twelve, $115 with ten and $144 with eight — for a private yacht, a licensed captain and crew, six hours, the drinks and snorkel gear for everyone. The sunset hours at $900 drop that to $60 a person with a full group, the least expensive way to have a private yacht in Cancún. Against the shared catamaran, the private boat is cheaper from about twelve people.

Not included: the marina’s gate fee — 180 pesos, about $10, per group, paid at Marina Mundo Marino on the day; it is the marina’s charge, not ours. Gratuity is optional (10–15% is customary). Food and catering are arranged on request.
What moves the price
Duration. Standard charters are six hours; shorter blocks do not save much, because the marina slot, the captain and the fuel to Isla Mujeres are largely fixed. Group size. The boat price is flat up to fifteen, so a bigger group means a lower per-person cost, not a higher total. Season. December to April is high season and dates go weeks ahead; July and August weekends go fast. Rates hold all year; availability does not.
